The War On Time Itself (Music by Adam Pullman and Elijah Femi)

about

This is a throwback to my older music, in the sense that it's basically an angry rant with no chorus over someone else's instrumental, unlike those songs this one features music someone else made specifically for me and also doesn't suck badly.

I don't think these lyrics need any major explanation as a whole, this is a heart on sleeve day-trip into my thoughts on an average day, a very stripped down ending to a rather abstract album.

I'd like to thank Adam for writing and recording the guitar riff and Elijah for writing and recording the drums and both for dealing with my hissy fit during the recording process.

lyrics

The rain killed the sun
But I shine persistent
As happy faces become one
Via drunken states to spread this fiction
I drink to forget and for something to remember
I think I'll forget this depressive cycle by december
I have to hold every smile in my grasp
As I lay in denial atop shattered glass
We can breathe smoke till time breathes down our necks
But please chock me now so I can find a selfish death
(Bass kicks in)
Beneath twilight kiss me atop this dirt
I welcome the knife if we can slow dance first
Your hand extends and my treehouse's haunted
Now I have friends and that's all I ever wanted
We pack our bags and march off this cliff
Into sewers because we're part of this shit

There was a hill overlooking my favourite prison
Closed off from any hell of famous description
I used to imitate The Time Bandits
Now I wrestle with gods until times vanquished
Familiar places never seemed so far away
Until I saw my thorns darkest days
Fell asleep picturing commotions so unusual
Woke up heartbroken at a cubicle
This neck tie cuts my oxygen supply
I cry into this wolves nest I dived
Inside where Ashley A's can stumble in
While I plot to throw King Bob off the jungle gym
But I knocked that populist facade and it's crumbling
Go back to those pigtails I loved you in
Jack Caleb of Mars is primed with handy violence
The illustrated man drinks wine from dandy lions

When you find yourself
I'll be waiting with a pencil
Here's my plan for this world
I'm making this poetry instrumental
Jeffty is five and steps into a new decade
Where even the maids bring death and use charades
As your depth slowly erodes
Your evil's only exposed
To hearts already fallen
Embarked to see your coolness steady boiling

Put the mask back on
So I can craft another rap song
(Take the) Walk of shame across the cosmos
Distort the pain with manhattans and cosmos
But I'll hear your voice by the bus garage
And the cycle restarts undamaged

The same sunlight is always recalled in memories
The same sun rises and falls for centures
The same sun my heart was once adrift
The same sun superheroes once eclipsed
The same moon shines over kings and peasents
The same moon shines when nothings pleasant
The same moon I dreamed that babylon collapsed
The same moon left little nemo an insomniac
The same seas that left my vogue marroned
The same seas feeding flowers that'll never bloom
The same seas ferried a gaslight speech
The same seas they'll bury me beneath
