about

This song was born out of desire both the write a romantic piece, to write a narrative piece and to write a piece full of Lovecraft references, I do all these things again on this album but not at the same time.

This song takes place in one of the dark fantasy lands that exists in my head and adapts the sadly too real situation of realising the person you spent so long obsessing over is a flawed human being who doesn't care about you. This is filtered through the lens of a knight on shining armour travelling through a demonic fairly tale to climb the princess's tower.

It's worth noting that someone in the recording studio thought the vocal sample was from Future, it's not but saying who it is would be snitching on myself.

lyrics

(Verse)

Picture two outcasts; confined to separate wings
In this asylum of populist sins
There's a single clock tower
To count each wasted second
Luciferans chose my abode to gather
Crucified by social conventions
Gremlins swarm the fortress where I live
Gargoyles perish beneath umbrage
So Adonis seeks a blind woman's heart
Where sunlight choses to depart
Across the window I can see
Dreaming of her dreaming of me
Bearing smiles of this martyr
Crucified by melodrama
In this city tailor made for abandonment
My light bringer lies incumbent
She is born from nobles beneath the sun
But she fears the common tongue
Corpses walk the streets and sleep in closets
Take my hand and we'll disassemble Metropolis
Soon I'll find the wrong words; they'll be very poetic
And soon I'll find the truth, it'll be very pathetic

I'm just tired dear
I just need to lay down
I'm just tired dear
I just need to lay down

Picture two outcasts; drowning in separate oceans
A slow Death In June, via these hollows of devotion
She is held captive by the monster called society
While I search for an escape route beneath anxiety
She is held captive by the green eyed demon veiled
What use are iron wings, to flesh and blood angels
She stands across the abyss staring back at me
As I prepare to warmly embrace agony
I'm a knight in a rusting armour
Storms gather as I destroy this makeshift Futurama
This house is a decaying paradise
Where she can't separate Eden from raw sunlight
And there shall be no sleep within these walls
Until Asterion has fallen
The moon has eye's
And they shall swallow me alive
The thorns have mouths
Through which Occam's razor seeps out
Climb blinded up weeping willows
As I scale colossus to her pillow

I'm just tired dear
I just need to lay down
I'm just tired dear
I just need to lay down

Picture two outcasts; separated by glass
Gracefully I trespass
To this building outside time
Labyrinth of corridors within my mind
There's a sunny meadow overlooking apathy
There's a blank-room where my dreams become reality
I can't disturb the goethic masterpiece
Present as I shine light on my darkest fantasies
Can her pyromaniac hand engulf Rome?
Is she Medusa or is she stone?
Her prose is Venom incarnate
I climbed her hair of snakes
To find she embraced warmth of the witches stake
Fleeing the Emerald city in disgrace
But the hangman's daughter shall never thrive
Porphyria despised me, surprise?
She bares a fraudulent crown
Presenting illusions of my saviour
In this abandoned town
Where I am I complete stranger

I'm just tired dear
I just need to lay down
I'm just tired dear
I just need to lay down
